In January 2002, a Quebec trapper killed this 67 pound wolf some twenty miles north of Quebec’s border with Maine and New Hampshire.  The animal was the first confirmed wolf killed in Quebec south of the St. Lawrence River in more than one hundred years.  The trapper stated that there were at least three additional wolves in the area.
